GUnet organised an online seminar for the “CRISISS – Soft Skills Assessment and Competence Validation for Volunteers in Transnational Crisis” project on 21th December 2022. They had invited stakeholders from non-government organizations which are based on volunteer work, universities, academic and technical staff related to e-learning, IT experts. Altogether, 35 people attended the event, from them 7 were staff of GUnet and 28 from other organisations/institutions.

The event covered the following aspects:

  • The project CRISISS (aims, target groups)
  • Presentation of the main outputs
  • Presentation of the CRISISS e-platform and mobile application

Participants were encouraged in the event to try and use the CRISISS tools and assess the visualisation, documentation and recognition of soft skills in different fields of volunteering.

The representatives of the IT departments of the University of Athens learned about the set-up of the online learning environment and functionality tests with the CRISISS user groups.

Participants agreed that the CRISISS tools were very good instruments to valorise soft skills gained in crises. Specifically, they appreciated the easy-to-use e-platform which encourages volunteers to assess their soft skills. The inclusion of podcasts and access via ALEXA was regarded as an innovative add-on and an inclusive measure provided by the CRISISS e-platform.
